Re: mg34
It wouldnt hurt to pick up a copy of Folke Myrvangs "German Universal Machineguns" either, there is a respectable breakdown of makers codes and production figures. There are also in depth chapters on accessories, mounts, stoppages, etc. If you're not familiar with it, it covers both the MG34 and MG42.

Gurtfuller 34's on gunbroker, cheapest anywhere!
Sarco is selling postwar Gurtfuller 34's for loading 8mm on gunbroker for $175 plus shipping. Just got mine and it is way nice. Didnt come with a can, but it did come with a free quart of cosmoline ;-) Seriously though, after disassembly, degreasing, re-oiling the parts that need it, and putting it ...

MG3 Tripod F/S
HK marked MG3 Tripod with Hensoldt periscope and functional illumination kit. Bought it with my Wise Lite M53, and have since sold the gun. The front locking lug was relieved to properly lock into wise lites guns, as their receivers are longer that the originals and dont lock in. Was purchased in un...

Re: WIse Lite M53 issues
Thanks for the link, some interesting items there amidst all of the pissing. I know I've seen the issues about he charging handle elsewhere, but it will take some time to dig them up, most of which I recall ended up being a return trip to wiselite. I did manage to find their phone number in another ...

WIse Lite M53 issues
Took my WiseLite semi auto M53 out today for the first time, and had all kinds of problems. It would not cycle or feed at all (using military ammo as prescribed) and on top of that the charging handle came out of it's track and would not go in. The booster also doesn't lock in place. Needless to say...

Re: New M53 owner
BTW, The Lafette from Sarco was the same green color as the post war Yugo assault drums I bought from Allegheny. It had a Yugo data plate on the search fire mechanism. Aside from being covered in cosmoline, it was in fantastic shape, no rust or noticable pitting or anything. It had definately been r...

Re: New M53 owner
The LAFETTE(not mg3)tripod I got from Sarco was way better than servicable, however they sent me one without an optical sightbase by mistake, I'm actually in the process of exchanging it right now. Soon as I get my replacement I'm gonna put up another post on both mounts so somone else doesnt make t...

Re: New M53 owner
Got the correct Lafette tripod, Sarco is selling them for $445 without the optical sight base, or $495 with it. Fits nice. As far as the Wiselite receiver being longer than the original, I really dont think that's the case, as all of the pics I've found of MG3's show the buttstock all the way back a...

Re: New M53 owner
Hey guys, Sorry about the long delay, I haven't had web access at home for a while and I just started a new job, so I haven't been able to get on for a while. Anyway, sinfullm had it right on, the front lug was a little too far forward, so I ended up measuring the distance and splitting it between t...

New M53 owner
Hey folks, I've been registered with this forum for a while, but spent more time reading and learning rather than posting. After alot of research and looking at comment here, I decided to add a semi auto M53 to my collection. I recently took delivery of a brand new wise lite M53, as well as a brand ...
