Thought you guys might find this interesting, if lol-worthy. Though a forward handle wouldn't be too bad an idea if you were always firing an MG42 at the hip.

Value of this MG42 Kit?
http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1618/mg42kitbo1.th.jpg Got this a long while back, just collecting dust and I guess it's time to sell it. But it's a bit different from other MG42 kits, seems like an old demil because they used a saw to cut off the rear receiver only, the rest of the front is sti...

German Markings on a Yugo M53 kit?
I recently got a Yugo M53 kit, and was surprised to find a "bpr" marking on the charging handle, plus an eagle marking inside the barrel shroud. However, the other parts like the top cover and barrel clearly have Yugo markings. Seller doesn't know anything about the prior history of this, so why was...

Re: MG-42 Non-Gun?
Thanks again Bil, can I ask for one last pic? You said that a steel plate is welded, covering the top slot, what does that look like? I've been thinking about turning one into airsoft model, closest I can get to a function MG42 in my very anti-gun west coast state.

Looks like a work in progress. Pretty cool, wouldn't mind a wooden MG42 if they were cheap.

Anyone have one? What exactly does it look like, and are they using the original receivers or solid, dummy ones?

Re: MG42 receiver
That's one of those "deactivated" guns, right? I don't understand the difference in European and American laws regarding receivers, how come they need to be destroyed here, but not there where it's more possible to turn them back to working condition?
