quick google search of europa metal stamping turned up a company that was around in the 20s and 30s doing metal stamping and according to their history they were destroyed during the war but then rebuilt and are still in business today. expensive for sure but im sure its original. looks tough to rep...

I have lots of belts that only have a three letter code and no other stamps. I have a couple that only have a small WaA mark with nothing else. The rest all have dates and codes. Anybody know if late war belts are completely unmarked? - matt

There is a little spring catch on the front of the trigger guard frame that holds it shut. When the trigger is pulled it opens the door. I had to fiddle with mine to get it to work and stay shut. - matt

The spring for the lever in the bolt should be very stiff. It is hard to push on a few of my bolts, the ones that function well. The cartridge lever in the top cover is stiff but can be depressed with finger pressure. Something else to look at is the top edge of that lever on the bolt. If it is roun...

The little lever on the top of the bolt is probably worn out or its spring is weak. Also check the rear cartridgel lever in the feedblock and its spring. Nitre salts blue at a temperature around 600 or 700 if I remember it right. Normal bluing is around 300. To high a temp will make hardened steel turn plum or deep purple. - matt

can you get to the rivets through a cooling hole on the opposite side? the one I replaced on my tnw was the rear and it was attached with screws. they springs seem to be identical - matt

the top cover pins with the screws are an israeli post war addition. germans didn't make those.
