A sling marked 41, for a gun adopted by the military in 42... hmmmm

Are you sure it's not an MG34 sling?

Not a sling for an MG42. It's a Yugo sling. Wartime German slings for the MG34 and 42 were all twin-strap split sling.

To be blunt, as the others have hinted, it is top to tail (Yugo) fake.
Only about a couple of days ago one of these slings, touted as WW2 German, sold for about $75 on Ebay.

Tommy,

Are they "fake" or are they Yugo military issue intended for the M53?

I just bought one (the Yugo style pictured) from Apex, as the fake/repro slings I have are useless and keep breaking (unlocking themselves from the pistol grip connector during use.)

Just trying to familiarise myself with this thread. However, from memory the sling I was refering to was a genuine Yugo army M53 sling that had been blatently fiddled with to have German esque WW2 markings.
If it is sold as a replica/fake/Yugo M53 sling then not a problem.

I think they are Yugo army issue, no? - I have them on all the guns, they are good slings.
