Total length of the MG42 receiver?

what is the total length of the receiver and barrel shroud?. I see drawings of the rear section only.

I was told in an old post it was, 37 11/16 from tip to toe, witin a 1/16 would be ok I hear. Slowfinger

just measured mine and it is exactly 37 11/16 according to the stanley 25' tape. I cant say if this is the right measurement because when I re-welded I never paid attention to the overall length. I just made sure everything fit and worked like the bipod, bbl, trunion, and top cover. hope this helps

as I save for my phili solid receiver, I want to make sure I get the length correct now, and not make a mistake when I get the shroud welded to it. It probably comes with instruction anyway....
