my girlfriend wants to name my gun

Post by js412000 »

My girlfriend wants to name my gun, I mean, my mg42.
Is that wierd? Should I get rid of her?

She wants the name to be 1940`s german sounding, with a touch of innuendo.
I am thinking of going with "fast Hildegard"

My wife selected the color scheme for my SA42.

But then she's not like most -- she races sports cars, and has her own 10/22, CZ-75, and Mini-Uzi.

My wife must be one of the best wives ever then! She will stand there straight faced and listen to me explain the differences between the semi and full auto, asks "aren't you gonna take the video" when she shoot my F/A mac 10, was extactic when she unwrapped her AR-15 varmit type I built for her for Christmas.

When I test fit all the parts on the 42 she looked at it in the middle of the living room and I said "that is impressive" and she replied "that's what she said".

Great ideas, Drooling. The website with female german names, and their meaning, is really cool!

I wanted to use my girlfriend's first and middle names, but she would have no parts with that!

My vote goes to "Schlanke Emma" or Slim Emma in Englisch. There is actually an Austrian artillery piece that goes by that name. Slim she isn't (12" bore) but she rained down heavy shells on forts at Liege, Belgium, and later on Russia in WW1. The shells weighed in excess of 750 pounds and could travel some seven miles.
Call her Emma for short, and in truth, yours is schlanke.

;)
