I received a Rheinmetall/PB Beretta MG42/59 parts kit with Heavy 1200 g Bolt AND Heavy Buffer from RTG parts yesterday.

https://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/RHEI ... p10316.htm

Has everything but the barrel and its extension.

My kit appears to have come from a gun that was used very, very little.

Pics below.

I can't wait to try out the heavy bolt/buffer combo next time I get out to range.

VERY interesting.
Here's the link to the RTG ad $2500.

FYI, the last three pics didn't autoload for me the first time, but did download to view by clicking on them.

I've got a couple of questions concerning the heavy bolts and buffers. Can the heavy bolt be used without a heavy buffer or will it tear things (buffer and bolt) apart? Also, are there MG3 heavy buffers? If so, do they look like the MG42/59 heavy buffer or more like the standard buffer? I have an MG3 buffer and am trying to figure out if it might be a heavy buffer. Thanks.

If you use the heavy bolt without the heavy buffer it will damage your gun.
I had a heavy bolt, and tried using it with a standard buffer. I got lucky and the damage was repairable, and I only needed a rivet and a new recoil spring.
