MG42 Trunion Replacement - Need Help

Greetings,

Recently installed a rebuilt recuperator. Everything seemed to fit and work until I went and fired.

Took 3 barrels; one fit perfectly and held in place for several hundred rounds. When installed, the other 2 popped the barrel door open after the second or third shot. Catching points on the trunion seem to be scratched and a little worn.

Need some help in determining if the issue is the recuperator or the trunion or something else.

Thanks

Does anyone know of a reliable gun broker who can fix the 42?

1st a quick question. Is your MG42 Full Auto or Semi Auto?
After that I might have a few names for you.

Reason I ask that is because several folks reviewed the trunnion / camming pieces and the needs of Full Auto are different from semi auto.
Do the pieces numbers match? That seemed like it was an important issue for FA, why a few thousands difference seems to be very important. So first check that the camming pieces are the same.
If so 3 folks on this website seem like they have done a lot of fixing.
oakrodent
flemgunner
OOW (company)
then a couple of new folks in Fla that I do not have details on yet.

You check things out and I'll also give it a try.
