Can a MG42/53 bolt be safely used with a MG3 buffer?

yes, the MG42, M53, and MG3 bolts are all the same, (other than the difference in the type of extractor, spring, and retainer, and that the MG3 bolt has a spring loaded feed lever pin). They take the same buffer, but the M53 buffer also requires an M53 stock (German and Yugo stocks are not identical). MG3 stocks are interchangeable with MG42 stocks when used with a German buffer for either model German buffer.
