Ran her again today.

Post by ScottD »

Took my girl out again today. First ten rounds went fine, then I just started denting primers. Then I had a double tap! I assumed that my disconnector broke again and I started to tear her apart. Nope, disconnecter looks fine, but the hammer was at a funny angle.....oh shiznizzle, the hammer axis pin had come out of the trigger frame. Quick fix, put it back together and finished the belt. :cheer:

I just thought Id share my joy. Not bad for a gun built with a HF MIG welder and a dremel tool......

Good to hear that you got 10 rds out of her.
I'm still working on getting smooth feed on mine so
it goes into battery reliably.
I guess I have to break her in slowly...heh..heh.

Ive got a total of about 200 rounds thru her. She still has misfires every once in a while. I chalk it up to being a home built gun. My biggest fear is running out ofammo, Ive got about 400 rounds of Romanian left, after that......Ive got about 1K of the Turk stuff. Ive been taught to fear this stuff like its the anti christ.......so has anybody here ever had any bad experiences with late 50's turk ammo being run in a semi '42?
