WW2 relics

Post by goesboom »

Here is a cool website! They dig up old WW2 battlefields for relics. There are a few MG42's and 34's they have found along with tons of other things.
Check it out

Ya it's a cool site. They don't have all their pics up for some reason. They had a set of pics and a story about a MG42 they one of their guys found in some small BF town in Russia. It was in some sort of clay that preserved it completely. They dug it up and cleaned it up made it back into a fully functional MG.
The pics I saw and the story said the thing had 90% of its original blueing. Thing was beautiful!!!
Anybody up for a trip to Russia to go digging????:)

'Nother Great WWII Relics Site

Post by gdmoore28 »

Ran across this site a few weeks ago. Created by a young lady who lives in the Ukraine. She and her boy buddies have been digging up relics since they were kids. Has one really gruesome photo of a German helmet lying on its side in a shallow pit with the skull still inside. They will not disturb the "graves" they find--just cover them back over. I think it's every history buff's dream to do something like this.

(I'm new to this forum. Hope I've followed protocol. )

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.
