Post by 42rocker »

Just thought that I would post a few pics of my new mg15 water cooled parts kit that I just got in from ima.
Any thoughts on it, bad or missing parts please let me know.

Looks pretty good :D

It would be nice if we could get a semi version of these, orion (if memory serves) use to sell an 80% receiver, but before I jump in, I would need a plan for the semi-FCG, bolt etc...

There are a few threads, I think the best estimate is these were air-cooled kits that were turned into water-cooled in Eastern Europe after WW2, Romania believe but it has been a while. Cool guns 8)

What a great looking kit. Congrats, 42. The bolt alone is a work of art. I wish I could hold it and admire the hours of complex machinework that went into just this one part! It was a smart buy; when they are gone, there won't be any more....Phil

There have been several posts on this site and weapons guild from Gordie K. about his forth coming semi auto (only) receiver for the mg-15. That's why I got a mg15 at this time, was on the fence waiting, then I saw the posts and said need to get it before the price goes up again. Another parts kit that might be going up soon is the Madsen50 that Sarco is selling. I'm doing a blog on building a semi. Since I started the blog the price of Madsen barrel went from $45 to $95. If I can just change the name from blog (talking about) to build (ie I finished it) then the price might be going up on that also. I know of 3 folks that have bought Madsen parts kits since I started the blog.

Have a Great Day.

Whats up buddy I saw you were bidding on that mg 42 cut receiver so I didn't bid on it guess the reserve was too high.I was thinking about getting a mg15 kit from IMA I prefer the aircooled one but what do you think of the water cooled kit? Do you think the parts interchange with the air cooled other than the water jacket and the barrel.I saw a site that makes 80 percents for around 450 if you need the contact info let me know they looked pretty good.centerfire has the m53 again at 599 also mg34 raised the price of their kits to 795 I have seen some kits go pretty cheap on Gb but had bad shrouds.I am having fun with some zb37 kits lately wow are they a tight fitted gun.Marty told me some of the guys just got their barrels from prexis, said he didn't get his yet, thats some crazy wait, but I contact a couple other guys about making zb barrels and it was a no go so I guess I will wait til everybody gets their and then try to order one. Take care Stephen
