The bayonet Yugo M48 and German k98 bayonet are interchangeable as far as fit. However, the M48 bayonet has a narrower blade than a k98 bayonet, but may be mistaken for a k98 bayonet at a distance of 10' or more because they have the same basic shape. Beware of jerkoffs selling M48 bayonets as "WWII German Mauser" bayonets. THe average M48 bayonet in mint condition goes for around $29.00 and the average good quality k98 bayonet goes for $50.00-$80.00 with mismatched scabbard, and around $175.00-$250.00 with matching scabbard, depending on condition. If you're looking for a k98 bayonet, I suggest spending the $65.00 and getting a decent, nonsharpened k98 bayonet with a mismatching scabbard that has no dents. They can be found at a local gunshow or online. You'll pay about $20.00-$40.00 more on eBay, but they can at least be found there.

Thanks. Yeah, I am setting aside a small pile of cash for the next gunshow. I wanted to know, because I '98 bayo is a good addition to a reenacting kit, and if it can fit my M48, then that is even more of an incentive to buy it!

Thanks!
