New Production 8mm Ammo

I found some new production 8mm ammo on the internet for about $.38 per round. While I do not consider that cheap I was curious if it is any good to shoot in my 42 with WWII or Yugo barrels.

I would appreciate any experience anyone might have had with this ammo.

Thanks

The only way to know if an particular brand of ammo will work in your gun, is to buy a box or two and try it.

PRVI Partizan ammo is known for being underpowered, which is a bad thing when trying to make it work in a semi. It may work fine in a full auto 42, but the semi guns are close to the limit on power required to make them operate.

If this is what you are referring to it is the only ammo aside from a small amount of commercial that I have run through my mg53. Personally I have inconsistent primer strikes with it and it seems hot.The commercial ammo I used was also very hot for my mg as well so it could very well just be my rifle. If you have any issues I would really like to know so maybe I can rule a few things out of the issues I have with my mg.

What I referred to when I wrote PRVI Partizan ammo was PRVI Partizan ammo. That's the name of the company that makes it. It's the name of the company that's stamped on the box it comes in.

I was somewhat surprised to see some bulk Wolf and Tula 8mm and even 308 that is relatively cheap. Over the years I have seen posts speaking badly about some ammo and I just want to make sure that what I shoot is worthy of my 42. I appreciate any thoughts in finding the best and cheapest ammo for fun.

I had bad luck with a box of Tula 308 where the case separated. See post 28 http://mg42.us/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=136 ... =20#p97226.

Thanks for the information. I am beginning to think cost per round may be one of the more important factors.
