MGz34 Eyecup (of coffee)

Post by cipollinaj »

Hi,
Just want to first thank all for helping me get started with getting a 34 tripod and Mgz34 optic.
It seems to me that the part I'm most concerned about is the Eyecup.
I would hate for the original to be lost, broken, stolen etc. while it is on display.
So I think I found a good temporary substitute.
Get one of those single serving coffee cups that you use in those coffee machines.
My machine is a Keurig.
Photo 1 the coffee cup on right , the original is on left.
The size is pretty close.

Photo 2 What you have to do is make 4 full slices to bottom.
Sort of like an 8 slice pizza pie
They are stretched out in photo so you can see them. No need to stretch them.
They will stretch as they go over the optic extension and will fit nice and tight.

Photo 3 There is the the coffee cup replacement on my MGz34.
I'm sure this will work nicely on the MGz40 also.

Now sit back and enjoy a nice cup of coffee.
John

I can find repro eyecups for some German scopes on eBay,
but I cant seem to find the repro eyecups for the MGz34 optic.
Does anyone know a source?
Thanks

Do an ebay search for "armyzdar", he was selling them at one time, that's where I got mine from. Chris...

Hi Chris,
I contacted him and he said he'd check if he has any in stock when
he returns to Italy.

Thanks, John
