Yep, completely different method to tie the front end of the weapon down to the tripod. You'll have to look further afield.

Some pics to show whats different between 34 and 42 lafette. Bear in mind that my 42 lafette is a 34 lafette that has been altered to a 42 lafette, but the basic is the same.

And a pic on the different triggers. Again, the original 42 lafette trigger might be different then the one on mine, as its a 34 lafette rebuilt to fit an MG42.

Olli,
Great side by side and I'm loving that 'Tutti Frutti' paint on the 42 tripod.

What do you know about the weapon catch for the 42 as it does not look like a German wartime piece? I was wondering if it was a Norwegian addition especially since it appears to have Norwegian paint on it, including the buffer, spent case chute and other nearby parts.

Another simple question. I know that TNW does make an adapter for the mg34 to fit the H&K tripods. And from what I've seen online the 42 lafette and H&K tripod both have the same mount. So in theory the tnw adapter should work on a 42 lafette and I'll be able to mount my mg34?

You say lafette sometimes, and tripod sometimes..... they're two different pieces of hardware. Shall we assume you mean lafette all the time?
