recoil spring tube

Post by masterangler-01 »

I have an option to pick up a spare recoil spring tube from a friend for $40. Is this a good price? What do these normally go for, and whats it really worth?

Thanks

If it's a real one that's a good price.
They used to be pretty hard to find but a bunch of originals came in from Europe and then someone started making the repro's.

IMA is currently selling repro WW2 marked tubes for 39.95 plus s&h. If it has the spring that IMA gets 89.95.
If it's real they are going $100 and up. More up than not.
If you like the looks of it and you think that it might be a repro still offer $30. Most folks can't tell anyway.

I had eleven MG42 (real) recoil spring tubes for sale a few years ago.

The owner of IMA saw one on my table at Knob Creek. He asked the price, I told him $400. He smiled and said "Well, you know what you have, don't you", and put it back on my table.

I sold the slightly rusty one for $350. The rest sold for $400, and I had a guy in England who wanted two more, but I was out.

$40? If it's real, jump on it. I wish I had another 10 real ones to sell, and I'd still get $400 each for them.

It's not a 42 spring tube though. Does that make a difference? I know the 42 spring is too big.

MG34 tube is a little bit better. I do believe.

Ahhh, I missed the MG34 part at the top of the page. MG34 tubes sell for around $60 - $100 usually.

That one looks genuine. $40 is a good price for it.
