MG42 Pouch

Post by Abwehr »

I have been looking at this Pouch myself for a while, but did not think it was worth the price they were asking, but the Special they have going may make my buy one.

I have wondered if it is REALLY an MG42 Pouch or not. If it is, it must be an MG3 type. Does anyone know for sure?

Tool Pouch

Post by Abwehr »

Hey Tom,

I just placed an order for two of the pouches from Sportsmans Guide. There was some other stuff I needed and the price is right so two will be coming.

Seems like one of their advertisements for this called it a magazine pouch and the special e-mail deal calls it a tool pouch. Does not matter to me, as I can use these anyway. By the way, they have a good price on .30 cal. ammo cans at 2.67 ea., but they charge a $1.25 "heavy item" charge on each can. Still the price at guns shows for these are $4 ea, and I needed a couple anyway.

When the MG42 Pouches arrive, I will post the condition.

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of

I thought these were for the MG3, but they sure do have a "Frenchy" look to them. At the price SG has them, I can always find a good use for them. I am using a Danish AA sight leather pouch for my MG42 AA sight. Always a good use for stuff can be found. I am supposed to receive mine Wednesday and will post the condition.

Real tool pouch for sale

Post by JBaum »

Anybody want a REAL tool pouch? I have two, and really don't need both.

It's a cherry, with only a small 3 stamped on one of the belt loops on the back. I presume this is for 1943, but there aren't any other stampings or waffenampts on the case. The spider sight mount is still riveted inside with the little piece of plywood. To me, that ensures that it's wartime, because I haven't seen post war pouches with the spider sight bracket. The leather is an excellent minus, even the strap is still very flexible. This is not a dried out and abused pouch.

I doubt you'll find a nicer one anywhere, but if you should get it and decide you don't want it, your money will be refunded. $150, not cheap, but not army surplus from the 1980s either.

The green tinge is from the scanner. This is a VERY nice tool pouch, all leather, no presstoff.
