Wow, that's a very broad subject. There is likely not a definitive single answer to this question.

I've seen on here for the tan and grey, and could've sworn I saw something about the greens, but can't remember where.

Thanks for the link I'll checvk it out.

Do you mean the WW2 colors or post war?

You'll find paint codes for WW2 dunkelgelb which is total rubbish because the actual paint varied so much. Do a search on WW2 ordnance (ebay or GB) and compare shades- it isn't all in the lighting.

I have been searching for post-war green to touch up a MG42 twin mount; so far all I find is modeler's paints, which isn't going to do the job. If anyone knows a matching paint that would be great.

take a paint chip to the paint store and have them put it in their machine to match it.

Would they be more accurate if I took the whole twin mount?

At my local paint shop, the device they put the color chip into is smaller than a microwave oven. I doubt they'd have something big enough to put the twin mount in.

I found a link that has different codes for different shades of green I can send if someone wants to email me at

gagunguy at aol dot com

I'm new to the MG42 world as my Post Dealer MG42 is at Bob's shop in VT have a once over and parkarizing.

There are different shades of Yugo green from my ammo cans, battle drums, Lafette mount, not to mention my German
h.q.u 43 battle drums with Eagle (which I want to sell if there's a "for sale" area here) and my AA tripod.

To many shades of green, ugh.
