hello all. I am new to the site and have searched thru looking for a solution but have not found one. I have just optained a J.D. Moeller site for my lafette mount and the lens is very cloudy and can not be seen thru. Is there a person or company who can clean or replace the lenses? Thanks for any help you can give me

It may just need the lenses wiped off, or what happens sometimes is that the glue that holds the layers of glass together to form a lens goes bad. One is a relatively easy fix. If the glue is bad, it's not repairable.

You didn't say which sight you have. There are two different styles. One has the lens that you look into at the top, the other is at the bottom. I have the latter, and had to take it apart to fix it. I wiped the lenses clean when I did that, and they're fine now. Unscrewing things without damaging anything is the trick.

I continue to attempt to dismantle the sight to get to the lenses and find one problem after another. Solved most of them but now I am stuck. I have removed the screws holding the top cover to the optics housing and I am unable to move/unscrew the cover. Any suggestions?

Once again I'll ask:

Is this the scope with the eyepiece that doesn't swivel at the top of the scope, or the scope with the eyepiece on a swivel at the bottom?

I haven't had one of those apart. A picture or 2 would be nice.
