So why do I need an MG3/42 Ringmount?

I noticed that RTG has MG3 ring mounts at a good price. I am trying to think of of a good reason that I need one? Perhaps, as a Sun Roof on the Chevy Avalanche 
They are just so cool, but I suspect that an AA Tripod in addition to my MG3 Laffette Tripod would be more versatile.
Perhaps the members here will buy them all and I will not have to torture myself with this question?
