Picture Request

Post by wooferocau »

Hi,

I am trying to re manufacture the optical sight mount bracket,,( not the base) fitted to the Lafette. I need some pictures of the UNDERSIDE of the mount...

If anyone could PLEASE take a couple of pics and post here , it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks..Paul.

Are you after pics of the pressed, U-shaped piece of steel that is the interface between the alloy mounting block for the optic(sometimes pressed steel) and the attachment points that are welded to the tripod?

Paul,
I think we've got our wires crossed. I thought you meant you wanted the piece that is affixed underneath the aluminium mount block, that 42rocker linked to. Your actually after the fabrication that is welded to the tripod outer cradle, correct?

Before I post the photos I've taken, are you trying to fabricate this part for a Yugo tripod, that is without the attachment? If so, I'm happy to get my calliper and give you all the dimensions (and angles) you could ever want.

Tom,

Yes, thats exactly what i am trying to do.. as in fitting an optics mount to a Yugo Lafette.
Yes its the , "fabrication that is welded to the tripod outer cradle"

I have the optic mounting block, but will have to fabricate the mount itself. Dimensions would be enormously helpful, thanks!!!

No sweat. Give me a couple of days, maybe the weekend, and I'll get you a bunch of numbers.

I plan in the very near future , to get a Yugo Lafette.

How difficult is it to dissasemble then assemble the Top Sled on the lafette ,
and replace it with the part shown here from Allegheny , with the AA Mount.

Does anyone have a suggested method with doing this correctly, and still have it function
properly ?

Will his part WORK , of fit OK on the Yugo Lafette ?

How difficult is it to do ?

I've heard both good and bad on this one. In talking with someone that redid a lot of lafettes he said that there is a difference between the German and yugo sleds by about 1/8 of an inch. So don't know. I bought two of the outside pieces that have the sight bracket on them with the plans of "someday" switching them out. Someday. So hope that it will go easy.
Anyone else out there with any info??
