MG 34 rear sight removal
MG 34 rear sight removal
Can somebody tell me how to remove the rear sight assembly from the barrel housing? Once the locking pin located on the barrel housing just under the sight has been punched out, how do I remove the round hub around which the rear sight moves? Is there an other hidden pin somewhere or just prying out that round part will be okay? Thanks in advance.
Re: MG 34 rear sight removal
I have been able to remove the rear sight finally. Only the locking pin holds the rear sight assembly in place. Once the pin is removed the assembly slips easily out. In my case, somebody had hammered the locking pin in place and as a result a burr prevented the hub to move freely out. A drill bit resolved the problem caused by a too heavy hand...
