ScatchBuild a Mock Mg34

Post by schultzsgt2 »

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I would like to build a mock Mg34 or maybe an Mg42 and need to find good clear picks of it, side views, top view and bottom views and with a reference item like a ruler etc. When done I may want to make it fire propane just for effect when re-enacting or just for display to the public. It's ok to call me crazy but I would like to challenge myself

welcome,ok well what are you gonna make it from? a parts set or total scratch? it is probly easier to use junk parts to build then fab em, if you email dan@angola armory he can probly sell you some cheap junk parts for a 42 oxy prop,

well i guess anything can be scratchbuilt with enough time :D,

personaly, i would suggest on these to buy cheap kits and sell the parts you don't need to recoup the cost of the kit

if you definitly want to fab the gun from raw metal we can definitly provide you the pics you need

The measurements I need are total length, diameter of the barrel cooling jacket, and any other dimensions would be helpfull. A drawing or something along the lines of the pic i have attached would be very helpfull.

You should buy a dummy MG34 from I.M.A. of N.J..It would be a lot cheaper for you in man-hours trying to build one of these from scratch. So much machining involved. They are a piece of engineering genious.I have a mill and a lathe and I wouldn't have the time required to duplicate a MG34.
