308 mg 34 / 42 belts

a friend of mine has aquired a very large supply of 308 mg 34/42 belts.. i keeping my 34 8mm. do the 308 belts work with 8mm? they are almost identical.

The .308 ones I have work with both 8mm & .308 just fine in all of my guns...
The WWII ones are brittle & break occasionaly so I use the .308 ones as much as possible

i have 90 belts and 20 starter tabs.they are all marked POF. they were loaded with ammo, the headstamp read- 7.62X51 POF 90
my friend just wanted the ammo...
i dont need them all so ill start a thread in WTS. i could always use some parts for my 34..
