two MG more, markings?
two MG more, markings?
hi,
i have been offered these two more MGs, i prefer they than other i prefer the deactivation, on these i can remove the Flash Suppressor and the cannon.
these haven´t the eagles on the other, one of these have all the numbers matching, and the other near matching.
1 have the French deact and the other one the spanish deact.
what would be your choice?
what are the markings on them, AN AA and AN Z with a crown over the letters? are they a period and german done?
first the French deact MG

and here the spanish deact, is normal the pice below the tripod? the little wheel? the other one doesn´t have this pice.thanks.
Re: two MG more, markings?
ANZ it's not a spanish deact... it's a French one...
"AN" is for "Arme Neutralisée" , deactivated by the "banc d'épreuve de St Etienne"., "Z" is the date code... but unfortunaly i don't know more about it..

Very nice! The numbers look good also. The bipod has the adjustment, your little 'wheel',early style.Later ones did not have this. Both are nice,I would take them both if I was you! ---bil

The part you circled is the safety. It is assembled correctly in that picture.

The little "wheel" under your bipod is to adjust the height of the bipod......while you're on the shopping spree I strongly urge you to buy some reference material to help in your shopping.......
Universal Machinegun/MG34-MG-42 by Folke Myrvang is the "bible" for German MG's
Also, a nice thing to have is the German Manuals being reproduced by John Baum at Germanmanuals.com.
If any one in particular get the "Butz Manual".....great must have IMO for any SA/FA/or Deact owner.....
Also, check this website, it's OK, there are some errors on some of the info, but it's a good start...
