Go onto the K98K forum and look under the thread "MP44 receiver blocks. Pete is in the process of making new ones out of 4140 alloy. You needs the old cut reciever to salvage the skin.
Shoot Pete an email, he can give you an update. He also has new made reciever sections for the back half.

Let us know how the project progresses, I have two parts kits that I would like to use to make a Semi one day. I have an original C and R and a functioning PTR44. Pete is a great guy, he got me started casting my own lead bullets when Hornady stopped producing 125 Grain 8MM.
Shoot Pete an email, he can give you an update. He also has new made reciever sections for the back half.
