1. Voters

Post by salt6 »

Voters, the one thing we need now.

How many time do you hear people bitch about the government, taxes, etc. Then ask them if they voted. Their answer is.....................

I'm really discourage by the one's who say no. They make some kind of excuse about staying off the grid. Well your on the grid.

We need to get people out and voting. They need to become active in the political process.
Through many dangers, toils and snares

and Grace will lead me home.

Salt,
I think 2010 will mark a year when coaxing voters to the box will be much easier than in the past. I say that for this reason: since my teenage years I've been frustrated and sometimes maddened by my friends', relatives', and aquaintances's near total lack of interest in politics. Even when they were aware that certain legislation would adversely affect them personally, the attitude was typically a shake of the head and a shrug of the shoulders.

That is NOT the case now. These same people have become politically initiated very, very quickly. These same people -- who once greeted political discussions with apathy -- now listen religiously to Rush, Shawn, Glen, and others and are ready to pounce if given the slightest chance to steam it up.

The mood is tense. The fury is scarcely contained. And they are all armed for bear when it comes to the Stimulus debacle, Cap 'N Trade ("No, son; Cap 'n Trade is not Spongebob's friend from Gloveworld." ); and, expecially the Healthcare Reforms Legislation(Sometimes know as the "healthcare REMOVAL legislation").

I feel a great deal of encouragement at what I am seeing in the real America that the DeeCeeErs have forgotten even exists. Real Americans have rediscovered their love for country, and they are near-panicked at the possibility of loosing it. For the first time, they are faced with just that possibility. I feel a tremendous sense of certainty that the polling booths in 2010 will have a tough time accomodating the turnout.

I guess the saddest thing is that ALL politicos are just interested in getting re-elected. NOTHING else matters to them. I also have been annoyed that way to many sheepole just shrug and don't vote. Hopefully they will vote in 2010 (IF there is an election) and remove "his holiness, pope BHO the first" before he finishes off the country for Soros and his ilk !!!!!!

"If there is an election." You know what? Such a crazy idea does not sound so impossible anymore. Can you just imagine: The Justice Department announces that it has "discovered" efforts by elements within the country that intend to turn the election using sophisticated electronic gimmickry. Just weeks before the election, the President declares a state of emergency and "delays" elections until such threats can be minimized. Impossible? These people already know they are in trouble at the ballot box.

I'm sorry to say I am not as confident that things will swing toward American traditional beliefs as easily as you guys thing they will. The Social Democrats and the Don't Give a Crap Republicans have done serious damage that will be recovered from in a couple decades. Things WILL GET WORSE before enough Americans wake up and realize they have lost the power in the country. The people will have to fight a long hard road to recover our prosperity AFTER we recover the power in this country. My message is, prepare for serious hard times. Get rid of your debt as soon as possible and invest in hard assets like gold. Collectable guns are subject to market influences and may take a serious hit beyond what they have already (bolstered by the buyers inability to pay for them), but at least you can blow away the desperate a$$hole who kicks in your front door as opposed to hitting him over the head with a gold brick. They are the last tool we should reach for to get control of our country. In the meantime, we should strive STRONGLY to recover the power and put it back in the hands of the people by every other means at our disposable. First and foremost: CONTACT YOUR REPS AND SENATORS. Second: VOTE.

If Americans today had to suffer through a thread-bare winter like Valley Forge 1777-1778, or march for hundreds of miles without shoes like soldiers did in both the American Revolution and the War Between the States, they may appreciate things more. Or if they had to worry about compulsory military service, and where they might be sent, they would offer greater attention.

Maybe if they followed their elected representatives/leaders with the same alacrity as their favorite NASCAR driver, or sports-team, they would see that the vast majority are worthless scoundrels only interested in feeding their own ego and being re-elected.

Apathy in our ranks comes as the base of the GOP is in splinters for myriad reasons, for one as Dick Army and Former Sen. Danforth (an Episcopal priest), and many other GOP elite have mentioned, the marriage of convenience between the various forms of conservatives from the late 1970s has broken down. Populist-conservatives, fiscal conservatives, libertarian conservatives, religious conservatives, Goldwater conservatives, and the neo-cons., share some views and are absolutely at each other’s throats on others. Furthermore being idealists, they are not likely to concede too much, this country desperately needs publicly financed elections.

DA, I agree this economy is going to have to face serious inflation in years to come to make up for the Federal barrowing, especially the last 7 years, on top of the 1½ years of bailouts, and whatever trillions are barrowed next. It is going to be a bumpy ride for a while.

ignoring the limits placed on it & abuses caused by it.
I'm starting to believe we may actually see a second civil war in our life time.

I wanted to pull this out of where it was hiding in the middle of DA's post.
When this country left the "gold standard" we the electorate lost an important check and balance on the elected officials. While on the gold standard if the people didn't like the policies of their officials they went to the bank handed in their "Federal Reserve Note" and left with gold. This would quickly drain the gov. treasury of gold leaving it the choice of changing its policy or going broke and ceasing to exist.

I believe it to be extremely important to you and your families well being to,
1) learn the difference between good/bad debt, get out from under bad debt.
2) research investing in precious metals, and other inflation resistant vehicles. NOT BONDS!!
3) Not believe the information offered to the public about the economic recovery (Green shoots) on the nightly news and Cramerica. The numbers are heavily manipulated to look like the recessions ending, Its not, and it will get WORSE.

Image I'll take off my tinfoil hat now, but I do believe we will see something like this here in this country.
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.

The scary part is allot of people think the economy is getting better with the socialist congress with their new leader. That is what is really scary. I don't think they are going to wake up in time. I don't ever think their is going to be another war between the states. We are too soft now. Too many tree huggers and animal activist out there. Now don't think I'm all the way to the left because I do believe in correct animal and forest management, but unlike allot of these other people who don't have a clue. I guess they grew up in a closet and believe what ever they are told. They are fanatical when it comes to their beliefs and making everything fair for everyone. I'm sorry, that is not the way the good old USA was formed. I believe it was the sink or swim approach. We also shouldn't punish the ones that made it ether, just have a fair tax system and if someone is going down -oh well and tuff (Try a different word.), better luck next time -. The other group of people kind of have an idea, but they do what they are told. I live in a strong union area and work in a multi union company. Before the elections I would ask who are they voting for, their reply always was ( who ever the union tells them to vote for ) That was the Dems and BHO. I'm sorry I guess I'm just preaching to the choir. We have a very long and hard road ahead of us. Call your congressman and buy hard assets.
Spell check is down and I'm too lazy to get the dictionary

It was so gratifying to see so many voters turn out at the "townhall meetings" that awaited vacationing senators and representatives -- at least, that is, for those who had the courage to face their people at all. I noticed that a number of them are using their break to conveniently vacation with their families -- out of country!

These townhall meetings have turned into forums for the venting of a lot of pent-up anger, and rightfully so. And in the clips I've seen, the citizens are clearly much better informed than their "representatives." In this case, the Washington denisens only represent a gross ignorance of the their own programs.

What beautiful body language you can see in the meeting held by Arlen Spector and Kathleen Sebelius. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1DTHb46FB4&NR=1) Spector is his usual stoic, mumbling self, but Sebelius is a gem. She's accustomed to adoring aides following her around and reminding her how intelligent and powerful she is. In this meeting, she is forced to come face-to-face with the "great unwashed," the uneducated mob that she is charged with regulating -- and she doesn't like the smell. It is clear that she is simply tolerating these maggots. "When can we get back to D.C., where we'll be treated to the proper respect we're due? How have you tolerated these offensive loosers for so long, Arlen?"

The real poke in the eye of those who haven't drank deeply from the KoolAide came from the Democratic bosses who stayed back in D.C. to issue talking points to those facing the rabble. Dick Durban: These people have been bought, funded, and scripted by the insurance industry. Just as in the case of the tea parties, the VIPs are incapable of comprehending what is going on the REAL United States, blissfully unaware of the fomenting rage that threatens to encompass them. The people are too stupid, too thick to comprehend what is being planned for them. Those who disagree with the creeping socialism are shouting what they have been paid to say.

These people more than deserve what is coming to them.

(By the way, what are the Republicans offering as an alternative to this catastrophic health system takeover?..................................???????)

Gary, I agree people need to give 'em hell, being more of a Lou Dobb's guy, (yes I am a Republican) I prefer to hold to account both parties for their traitorous money grubbing from lobbyists. No wonder the Founders like Madison and Washington feared the idea of political parties controlling too much.

Actually it was the Republican National Committee that ran a re-election ad for Herbert Hoover (Republican of course) in 1928, that promised “A chicken in every pot and a car in every garage.”

But “Sd.Kfz.173” in Europe, where to begin?

There were many right wing, or certainly right if center movements in post WW1 Europe filling the vacuum left by monarchial scum and answering the demands of a world Depression: Salazar in Portugal; Franco in Spain; Mussolini in Italy; Dollfuss and his coalition in Austria; Gombos & Szalasi in Hungary; The Iron Guard/Antonescu in Romania; Metaxas in Greece; naturally there were others.

Of course on universal Health Care there is no Obama to Hitler comparison there, since Germany had universal health care before any industrialized country, it goes back to the early 1880s, pre-dating Hitler’s April 20, 1889 birth.

I need to clarify so I do not look like someone who does not know basic history. In my above post, the Republican National Committee ran the ad, “A chicken in every pot…” for the reelection of another Republican following Coolidge, and Harding before him. In 1928 it was Hoover’s first run, not his personal reelection.
