Hello Guys... Im a new boy here :wnana: Hope you like my :photos: .... 8)
This is the MG im trying to get a wooden butt for . hvg 43 i beleave i need?

Looks great!

What is done to the weapon in order to deactivate it in the UK?

I like it too. I notice the bipod adjustment knob is the same knurled design that is on my MG-42 (GH code 1943).

Your right there Railsplitter. It is a uk deact. There no " buzzsaw " sound here :( RRRRRRRRRRRR AAAATT TATTTA TAT 8) Good thing really, Get thru to many bullets.

Hi The barrel is retained in the gun by a hardened pin which runs up a groove on underside of barrel. The barrel cant be removed because of the pin. With the barrel held in gun this way it still allows the bolt and rollers to move like they were designed too. A short lenth has been cut of the bolt at an angle and the fireing pin removed. :wnana:

Very nice gun!! Does it have an early cocking handle? I have one that is 500#'s earlier that has an early cocking handle.

UMMM I dont know. Take a look and see. What does early cocking handle look it ?

The early handle is often referred to as the slab side. It was soon replaced by the ratchet style handle that is on your gun.

Now i see and understand :photos: Cheers david. This early MG yours? It look very nice on the mount.
My gun is fairly early as it is dated 1943 were as guns after 1943 were letter coded.
