Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.

Das ist ein Spatnegriff aus Nachkriegsfertigung, für Helikopter.

Gruss MGZ40
That is a Spatnegriff from postwar manufacturing, for helicopters.

Very nice-thank you for the pictures! Is the gun operable? I know the laws are diferant in Switzerland, and you can have full-auto.The spade grips are nice-could we get a picture of the trigger area,I am trying to figure where rod attaches there. It looks like a fairly simple set-up.Did you restore the gun,or was it in good condition when you got it?Thanks. ---bil

Hello, the MG42 is in Fullauto. As I got it was it in very good condition. It originates from a German arsenal and was on Cal. 308 converted. I had only changes on 8x57. in Switzerland am it possible with special grant Fullauto to be bought. Unfortunately nearly no grant is to be received for shooting in Fullauto. Does the spade grip attach the the normal buffer and replace the stock?

Yes,
only the Stock untwisted and assembly the spade-grip .
Last 5 seconds install that.
The normal feather/springplat is used.

Ja , zur Montage wird nur der Kolben entfernt und der Spatengriff aufgedreht.
Die Montage dauert höchstens 5 Sec.
Es wird die Normale Feder verwendet.

Thank you for the photos and the information. That is a neat way to install and spade grip. We need to pirate to start looking at this as a project. I didn't see the connection between the spade grip and the trigger, but it most likely a finger on the end of the rod that pulls the trigger back when the 3rd handle is pulled.

Wow! That's a great looking MG42! Did I understand you to say that you can get a permit to own a full auto, but not a permit to shoot it? Would it not be allowed to shoot it at a gun range? I'm just curious, I understand there's people everywhere over there, also avelanches, etc.

The photos that were on this link were lost I believe in one of the hacks on this website, however here is a working link (at this time) that has a few pics of what was lost.
