WOW!! Amazing photos!
Seeing those men - obviously very happy with what they are doing and clearly proud of their machine - one wonders how thay made out. Did they all survive the war? What did they do with their lives after the war?

John, I am going to assert that it is a fumes extractor, slip-stream/vacuum/venturi driven, you're only seeing the evacuator hose and accumulator manifold there in the picture, the overboarding source would be outside the fuselage.
Very similar looking devices are well known elsewhere in the Art for American period aircraft, and the sheet metal accumulator manifold clearly is designed to gather and then expel something, that is an articulated hose, the diameter is too large to be an electrical conduit and is not right form for a shielding harness.
