Slow going build, as I need outside machining and welding help. Just curious, with out Pirate's help how does Wise Lite expect someone to figure all this out on their own?

It is assumed that if you buy the receiver, you either already know how or will learn. The info is all here, but it is not all in one spot. The re-welds have all the right cut-outs and holes, just more welding.Wise-lite leaves the options for several differant style grips. It would be nice to have templates to use, though. It is still the nicest repro receiver I have seen yet,and I think the only one being made now in any quantity. And thank you,Pirate, for all the tutorials-it does make it easier! :D ---bil

The wise lite rear is a simple build, easier than doing a reweld. the only part you need to cut out is the grip hole and you can use the grip for that. it is better and more precise than a template.

I took it out to test yesterday and really screwed up. I went to the range with 8mm ammo and feed setup and a .308 bbl. I am sure it will run, it has my latest grip & bolt mods in it.

Of course it will run, I was just bustin' baws.

Just like that scene in "The Survivors" "Uh, Jack, time out, okay? I brought the wrong ammo."

I have a dumb question; what all is holding the cam piece in place? On the originals there are raised tabs or ribs or whatever keeping it from moving around, I don't see any on this build. Or did I miss it? (jeez, I read the tutorial twice!?!) If so, just point me in the right direction please.

Thanks,
artech

Has anyone actually used the WLA grip w/AR15 FCG with the receiver? I would like to see how the front of the grip is attached to the receiver. Pirate's tutorial states no material is needs to be removed from the recuperator.

You don't need to remove material from the recuperator on the Wise Lite grip , it sits flush with the outside of the receiver. the FAL grip fits inside and is a little wider than the standard fa grip.

I guess I am not getting it the WLA grip has 2 notches cut on the front. What keeps the front in place then. And it look like I need to cut out add'l material for the hammer to strike the Firing Pin.

bub i dont have the WLA grip, from what ive seen it hooks inside of the receiver on the front section and the back still goes thru with the pin.

That's what I was thinking except that one of the notches is not big enough for both the receiver and recup.
