feed pawl

Post by drooling idiot »

anyone have a clue how to get the springs reinstalled on a feed pawl?
i have a spare I'm trying to put back together and it seems impossible because the springs are way to long.
How does the armorer replace these springs?

idiot, :D

I would remove the retaining pin, seat the spring and push down on the pawl then slip the pin back in. I have never had 42 pawls apart that far but I have had 34's apart and that’s the ticket.

is the pin on the 34 staked in place ? i can't see forcing the pin out without damaging it probably beyond reuse.
i didn't take this apart for something to do it came this way.

never mind looked at my good one . the springs on that one are easy to install but the springs that came with the spare are the same length but about three times stronger with a thicker diameter wire.
four hours trying to fix something with the wrong parts...... $.02
almost loosing an eye to a run away spring ....................... $.02
finding out you've been wasting your time and you should have just ordered a $18 buck spare from RTG. ..... PRICELESS
