Barrel Bushing

Post by sbude57 »

As I was test fitting my barrel bushing into the shroud, I noticed the bushing has an indentation milled on the inside. Am I correct in assuming that the indentation is oriented towards the open slot in the side of the shroud to facilitate installation of the barrel at a slight angle? Still a long way from welding it in, just curious.

Yes, you are correct. There is a scalloped area in the rear of the bushing for the barrel opening side (right). Some bushings like the MG3 type also have a notch on the threaded end which orients towards the left (non barrel openig side) at the 3 o'clock postion looking from the front.
