Team,
RTG is advertising both MG42/3 and seperately MG53 'trunions' what is the difference between the two please.?
cam box/trunion question
Re: cam box/trunion question
Would guess that his MG42/3 sets are new, Bundeswehr, Rhinemetall, postwar. Yugo parts are "battle tested" in Bosnian war. Real MG42 matching wartime sets are rare and expensive...Phil

Re: cam box/trunion question
In this case the difference been matching numbers. The first one that he lists is a pair. The second one that he list is yugo with matching numbers. Of course the first set may be WW2 and matching but does not state it.

Re: cam box/trunion question
get the matched set for a firing gun. these pieces are uber important you don't want almost matched parts in a working gun.

Thanks All,
I have a yugo front end and yugo box matched, one thing I noticed is the L/H window cut out is much wider than the cam piece, its the 32ish mm wide but several mm above and below the cam, not that I see this as an issue but was curious to the difference thinking a yugo cam box may fit better not knowing exactly what I have either!

A picture that might cause you to cry......
New in wrap Rheinmetall MG3 trunnions/camming piece sets. At one time I had a huge wooden box of these, chock full of them like this, in the wrapping. Don't have too many left anymore, but I grabbed a handful for a quick picture here.
When you hear folks say "...but, these ARE the good old days!!", listen. ;-) None of this stuff is going to come around ever again.
