Re: Newb Checking In
I have taken the search fire apart. I would have to agree that the novice should not attempt it unless you are very mechanical inclined. Take lot's of pictures while doing it. I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade (now cable guy....very sad...very sad indeed but the the free cable is worth it....

Re: WTB MG34 FeedTray and Firing Pin
The semi use the same FP The answer will cost you! You have a failure to eject and the next round gets jammed in with the spent shell wedging up pushing up on the feedtray up until it breaks the little tab off with the hole. Basically... Yeah I saw them on GB. Hell at that price, I would just buy a ...

Re: MG3 or MG42 Lafette?
Welcome to the forum, :welcome: Here is where the manufacture marked the Lafette. Also, if original the Germans marked every part. They were fanatical about that. Also, here is a link for an original MG34 Lafette. It will show you how they marked all the parts with Waa stamps. http://www.mg42.us/vie...

Mossie,
Shameful plug....but I have a .308 belt loader for sale in the for sale section. It would go nicely with your conversion kit.

Re: GB parts kit??
Just to give you an idea on price. I sold a nice kit couple months ago for 1,200. It didn't have a rec. Only 1 barrel. 1 ch. handle. 1 bolt. So this is a really good deal at this current price. I would have to agree, it's still not a receiver. If your worried, if you win the auction just ask the sel...

Re: 8mm N/C Ammo only in my '34.
The Romanian is a proven to be good running ammo in the MG34 and MG42........I have no experience with the PrviPartiazan you mention....besides, .29 cents a round for the Romy verses .66 cent for the New made Serbian stuff is a no brainer to me. Just my opinion.
Romanian is goods stuff !

Re: 8mm N/C Ammo only in my '34.
I would stick with the Romanian only. All other sites I have checked are out. So aims is the only supply right now. I just sold 8 cases of the 760 rd cases for $200. a case.

Re: MG34 Lafette Restoration
I do not believe that the dark green color is the correct color for your Lafette. It sounds like it may be post war Norwegian repaint. Pictures would be helpful. I am assuming you have a Lafette 34. This should be the correct color http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/tomcatshaas/MG42forum/MG34%20...

Mossie,
most just ream it out to the correct size. Use a carbide reamer as the cone is hardened.
