Convert MG34? Whats needed to do that, to .308?
Just wondering what was needed to convert an MG34 (full auto, original) to .308, and if there are any other caliber conversions out there. I know a barrel would be required for .308, and I know the Israelis and Norwegians did that; but what else, if anything, is changed? Also, are there any other ca...

Re: Pictures of my NEW MG08/15 Parts kit! Big improvement!
If he's still doing 6k for getting a gun up and working, with a registered plate, do it. I haven't seen a plate for sale anywhere in some time. Does that include riveting, bluing, fitting it, etc, I assume? If so, that's not bad.
I wonder if he has stuff for other guns? Schwarzlose?

IF you and I can both make it next march, we'll have to try to set up near each other, the maxims have to stick together!

Re: Ammo Can
A very similar type can was used with the MG08, early in WWI and before, it held 2 belts, and this was probably where the design for these later cans came from, minus the divider that was in the actual ammo cans.

Re: Lots of pics of German and Allied guns
Wow, neat pictures, I'm really torn- it's pathetic and sad that they've been welded & ground up into deacts, but theres some neat stuff there...but are the gun laws so sad over there that you have to deactivate Steyr-Hahn's and Gew 98's??? I knew they were ridiculous, but...

Re: New Pictures of my Now Complete MG08/15 parts kit.
Wow! Nice set, an S&H gun! I love it! I've got a Spandau, and a D.W.&M.F. one. I love the things! Nice aircraft gun, the reason they're cheaper is that they're often hard to get to fire- just like you said, the trigger. I've heard that some of them, sadly, had the registered plates yanked and put on...

Re: Odd MG08/15 parts. Post WWI, etc...
Pretty neat stuff! I like the drum, that's very nice. I've got several, and I'm not at all sure that's repainted post war; the colors on them change dramatically from lot to lot, and all the definate post war repaints I've seen have been darker, not light like many of the WWI drums. Some definate WW...
