Shot the 1945 MG34 a little today
We tried to use a shot timer to see the ROF, but the gun was too fast for it. It kept reading 325 RPM, and we all know that's not right ;) Anyways, I love this gun now that it's running right! http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu302/michaelkih/DSC02099_zps6rhxhhjx.jpg http://i658.photobucket.com/al...

Yes, that MGZ40 looks nice. How is it mechanically, and how are the optics?

Wanted: MGZ40 scope and MGZ34 scope - also lafette straps
I'm looking for a tan MGZ40 scope, and a dark grey MGZ34 scope. They don't need to be mint, but I want them to still be fully functional with a clear picture and preferably have the case for them as well. Please let me know what you have. Thanks! Also, I am looking for nice original carrying straps ...

Got a proper tripod for my MG34
I bought this thing from someone in the UK, and they shipped it on Monday, and amazingly it was on my doorstep today on Wednesday. That's service! It's covered in waffen marks, and beside missing the bolt box, it seems good to go. It's a dark grey finish, and everything on it works, and I just need ...

Re: Advice on buying an MG 42
The Hot Shot ammo is GREAT ammo. It is bimetal, so it will wear out the barrel faster, but besides that, it is really really great stuff.

Aubrey Military Antiques??
I just wanted to triple check and make sure this place is legit. They are in the UK and ship to the USA and have a lot of rare MG42 and MG34 stuff available. Thank you!

Re: MG34 started misfeeding. picture.
Thanks for all of the replies everyone! Long story short, fixing something like this is WAY over my head, so it should be getting delivered to Bob of Black River Millitaria on Monday, and he said that he can fix everything for me, and turn it around. While he has it I also asked for him to "clean it...

Re: MG34 started misfeeding. picture.
Not sure if this helps any, but what I call the feed ramp, looks like this. Looks terrible to me, but all the other MG34s I've seen look like this as well, so I guess this is normal? Thanks again!

Re: MG34 started misfeeding. picture.
Thank you for the advice. I have been doing some research, and have heard that if the belts are too tight, this can happen. Bolt slips under the round after stripping it. I was using a different belt from 1939 that was VERY tight. I loosened up each link in the belt and am going to try it again. Now...

Yes, it ejects the previous round. Just doesn't feed a new one. It's honestly almost every shot now.

Re: MG34 started misfeeding. picture.
I have found a new and never even fired feed block assembly. After reading through my Collector Grade MG34 book I am assuming it is this after all? What about the top cover, can those become worn out? Mine does wobble a little when it is latched. Thanks for any help! Added: I did purchase and instal...

MG34 started misfeeding. picture.
I have read that this means that the spring pressure in the feed block that pushes the round into the chamber is worn out. How do I go about replacing this spring? I took the feed block out, but couldn't see where I could just replace the spring. Are these springs even available? Is it better to jus...
