When you change the mounting of the lever on the Lafette, you've changed what's defined as the trigger... Bump firing with your finger is one thing, using a mechanical device and spring loaded mount to do it is quite another. It becomes the trigger, and you've just gone from one pull=one shot, to on...

Sounds to me like you've diagnosed the problem. I use a light grease on my feed lever, and have the pawls well oiled, but the MG42 is known for its ability to pick up the belt, so about all that leaves is the pawls.. The pawl springs need to be stiff, and they're cheap to replace, so go wth that fir...

Ah,,,, that ain't the way to check headspace...... First you'll need a set of guages, which are available from Midway. They sell specific guages for 8mm and .308. The directions for checking headspace are on a sheet of paper that comes with the guage. In short: Put in the GO guage.... it should fit....

Allegheny had some trouble with receivers not being cut up well enough one time.... after that, they made sure ATF didn't give them trouble again. Can't blame a guy for being careful. We all regret seeing a destroyed, rather than just a demilled receiver, but my primary goal in business would be to ...

Don't remember the name of the place that sells them... I think it's three letters, like initials... they advertise in shotgun news sometimes. They're in Portsmouth, Ohio. The list P38s, holsters, and they even matched up a correct mag for me. I think around $125 - $140 for a new softshell holster i...

:  Geez guy, learn to cut down the byte count. When you're on a dial up line like I am, each one of your pics took 6 minutes to come in. 16 bit color is more than enough, and the picture doesn't need to be any bigger than 600 x 800 pixels..... Pics don't need to be more than 100 K or so for to...

ED!!!!! BUDDY!!!! PAL!!!!!!!! In case you didn't know, I translate German manuals into English. I have already translated D 124/1 and D 124/2. They're a very good pair of manuals. The MG 34 manual you show (zwillingssockel on the cover) I bought and already have it scanned in, I just haven't had tim...

Don't feel bad Abwehr... I answered a question on here about an MG34 with the exact correct information.... for an MG42. Duh, it happens. I once worked with a guy who never made a mistake.... he never did anything. :) I got laid off first, then called back after they found out why he never made a mi...

Reproduction waffen stamps have been made, and there are still some of the originals around too. I've seen both. I was present once when a stock was proofed with an original stamp. A little oily dirt and a rag was all it would have needed to have me agree it was real. This particular one was a sande...

I believe he's talking about one of the concentric circles on the sight, not the swaz in the circle under the eagle on an inspection stamp. I have an original waffenamted AA sight, and having only 2 circles is correct. They are a different sight than the MG34 takes, and were only made with 2 circles...

Although the markings are the same on the bottom of our soaking cans, the way the bottom of your can was made is different. My is all one piece with rounded edges. Yours looks like the bottom center was made from a different piece of steel then inserted into a tube? As is usual with this stuff, if y...
