Re: Is this a Lafette 34, or the "Grasshopper" 08/15 lafette?

It's a real shame that it did not survive out of the ground because it would be a nice and rare find.
I expect the search fire and traversing parts rusted away because they were normally not painted.

Re: Is this a Lafette 34, or the "Grasshopper" 08/15 lafette?

I guess you are referring to item 320473061958 which appears to be a ground dug Lafette 42 that is missing the search fire assembly as well as the traversing sector. OK for a display but little else. For sure not a Lafette 34.

Re: WTS: TNW MG34 Project

Barrel Shroud was matched to receiver by TNW and it fits very tight. Barrel shroud marked dfb 43, Top cover bpr To finish project you'll need to convert the gripstick (parts and drawings included) and assemble. http://www.autochart.com/MG34/Sale/MG34-8.jpg http://www.autochart.com/MG34/Sale/MG34-9.j...

I have decided to sell this as I simply don't have time to work on it. The bolt has been converted and the receiver has had the cams and barrel shroud pivot pin installed by TNW. Barrel shroud, top cover, and receiver serial numbers match. I will post more info later this evening. Price will be $2,6...

You're right Frank - I thought that was the MG11 bracket but Bob set me right over on 1919a4.com. I have one of the Swiss sights and Bob said it would fit the Argentine or the Swiss bracket.. Here is what he posted: "The Swiss MG11 sight bracket is quite different than the early DWM/Nordenfelt brack...
