Re: Reweld of a 4 cut receiver.
Indeed this site was pretty busy in those days, henceforth the kits have dried up, at least with barrels (thanks to the dingbats in Washington DC, BOTH parties with the 2005 import barrel ban), and with importers mostly choosing to have the receiver rears be left behind in the trade zone facilities ...

Re: IMA dummy gun barrel shroud extension removal
Well I will be Captain Obvious and chime in with he low hanging fruit. 1) Have you contacted IMA and asked if they did something to attach the shroud with the dummy that cannot be readily seen? 2) Have you tried heat? German tolerances were pretty good, but that stud and shroud can make a pretty tig...

Looks like many of us did nationwide, now we exchange one batch of meat puppets of the 1% 'ers, for another batch of meat puppets of the 1% 'ers.
Let us see what $4 billion of campaign contributions by a handful of Americans bought for our Republic.

Re: Rear receiver options
Congrats, I think I can picture the front you received, there were some earlier de-mills around where the whole front is intact (i.e., booster, bushing, camming piece, then the cut), nice kits. Here is what you have to consider: 1) how anxious are you to get it finished?, 2) how good are your weldin...

Re: MG42 Catastrophic failures
Well to be fair maybe this builder was employed by Century Arms,,,,,,,,    Just kidding we all know that Century-builds provided great priced, ARs, AKs, HKs, FALs, etc., for those that could not build their own, but one just has to be a bit careful on the secondary market where ...

Welcome to the site, lots of friendly people here, and tons of information.
As you likely know these things do not always work out of the box, and even if they do, fine tuning and healthy care can take time to learn.

Re: MG42 just picked up
Congrats on your acquisition! That is a nice piece of history. A picture, or these days a link, is worth a thousand words: http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/MG1-7-62mm-308-CONVERSION-KIT-141p2475.htm There is also a "deluxe" package for $50 more, but this one for $299 will get you through, as a nost...

OUTSTANDING
Great photos, I like the Germanic art on the bike.
I figured you gave up hunting when you sold the full-auto Mg42
Seriously MN is an unknown jewel--maybe it is best that way, less it be spoiled by intruders.

Re: Medical condition and disposal of collection
Dear Tim, Best of luck with this, please take time to research Dr. Hans Nieper's work (oncologist to many famous Americans like former president Ronald Reagan) his use of B17 (not the plane) along with conventional therapies as well as powdered organic sulfur. Remember Nobel Prize laureate, Dr. Otto...

Congrats and welcome aboard. Be sure to safely store those 8mm parts, should you have to sell someday, and if it is a WW2 German receiver, it will bring more at auction. Meanwhile consider going to ApexGunparts.com and buying an M53 parts kit for spare parts, or RTG (www.robertrtg.com) for great pri...

Re: Another Cosby Mystery-Weak primer Strikes
Well, here is where I am at, I think RichardS nailed it. First thank your for your patience, this project is located a fair distance away, in a location without power, so I have to parachute in with whatever tools and limited knowledge to work with that I possess. After close analysis it appears Tho...

Re: Another Cosby Mystery-Weak primer Strikes
Hey DA and RichardS, Much obliged, first I just noticed that my dearth of sleep last night compelled me to consistently misspell "striker," anyway, it seems my spelling is as bad as my, sketching :D , and gunsmithing   Okay, b/c this project is not in a place I can physically get to ever...

Re: Another Cosby Mystery-Weak primer Strikes
Hey DA, THANKS for chiming in, that is excellent advice, so far RichardS has also offered much sage guidance as well, I think I may have found at least one problem, not sure how to fix. As suggested, except I had to use Prussian blue (you know the Prussian thing)-just a tiny bit, at the tip of the s...
