Re: WTB MG42 Barrel 7.62 X 51
before ordering and paying for one, make sure they inspect the thread count on the barrel. you might end up like I did. thread count to shallow, had to put it on the lathe and finish the threads. I never found out who is making these barrels, mine is in 8mm and came with a parts I purchased 5 years p...

Re: brand new barrel, NOS barrel extension problem
ordered a P.O.S. used extension with just the stub poking out. removed the barrel stub and compared the thread count to my new barrel. as I had thought, the threads were cut to shallow. put the new barrel in the lathe and finished the threads. p--s poor quality control, must have been 4:15 on a Frid...

brand new barrel, NOS barrel extension problem
new barrel, NOS barrel extension-- can't get the barrel collar to match face with the extension, I have 0.10 inch gap between them. tried 4 times screwing and unscrewing the barrel, using antiseize on threads and a chain strap type vise grip tool on the barrel with thin piece off rubber over the bar...

Re: Wise Lite Receiver
one thing, any machined reliever is far superior over stamped steel. wiselite calls this the Gen II. i'm confident the quality control is number one.the price is more than reasonable, the machine tools alone, just to make these are very expensive. years back, wiselite were offering their left and ri...

I have designed a new set up for the charging system for the mg42sa. the last two builds I've done it works fantastic, the charging on semi builds has always been problem, will try and post pictures, if anyone has an interest.

new charging design
I've designed an all new set up for the charging on the mg42sa. it's always been the problem on most builds. over the years I've caught hell, on this site for my modified ideals, ie. it doesn't look mg 42, well if your building a semi-- its not mg42, only a rifle. been awhile since I have posted her...

Re: Kriegsmarine marked MG 42?
i would venture to say, the mg42 would have been incorporated somehow in naval operatations,i.e. surface ships-- but i've never seen pictures or read of useage , the cons of almost all u-boats had mounts for the mg34 and each u-boat had 3 mg34's in the weapons line up.

a fellow should never, never ever use break free on firearm. it eats steel, its made to remove rusted in bolts. find out for yourself, soak a bolt in it for 2 weeks and you'll see the effect.

your telling us this MG42 in the photo is a dug item? if that's the case, it looks great , 68 years in soil and surfaces looking like this.

if you have a business, incorporate it, then have the corporation purchase the item.
