how would one ever know, if in fact it was slave/death camp labor made---i can't see a inspector that late in the war, worring about the accepted details of a pouch. "make me a hingh" out look.

i know about the conv. to the 308, using that top cover-big wow, just saying it looked mg3 green--- which i thought looked cool against the black-- i'll say this, glad i bought 30,000 rounds of south african 308, 10 yrs. ago for $ 130.00 a case- now it's $600.00 + a case.

the outstanding feature of the short recoil system of operation is that, by proper disign, high rates of fire can be attained. and this is what the military asked for in the specs. --high rate of fire, cheap, funtional reliability, 8mm

to follow up, my friend got his M53 back from WLA. They fixed the barrel door, fixed the bolt head problem. We fired it Sat., ran 350 rds. of yugo ammo, one misfire-- ran 250 rounds romanian, fired all. good grouping @ 500 yds. on 55 gal. barrels.only one problem, some new belts he got from RTG-- wo...

i don't think there is a problem here. look at the home made rachet plate and how far forward it is. there no channel for charging to ride in. the recoil spring is undercut, receiver looks home made and way out of spec.

maybe i'm not on the same page with you,( a two finger trigger pull), -- from the looks of Richard Freeman Jr.s patent drawings, i don't see any two finger pull. to myself, the set up looks like the trigger would produce just the opposite .
