Re: MG-Munition Box
Here's a picture of what the inside looked like before stripping and adding the missing dividers.
I also stripped the black paint off the handle and hasps, and touched up the bare metal on that one side.
This was the sellers photo when I bought it.

Re: MG-Munition Box
Very nice! Most commonly found on armoured vehicles that had a 34 or 42 for close defence. What did you strip the black paint off with, to leave the original paint untouched? At first I tried using acetone but that didn't work too well, then I switched to lacquer thinner which worked very well. Jus...

MG-Munition Box
i picked up this emty box a couple weeks ago. Someone had painted the entire inside a gloss black and the front two dividers were taken out. I made two new dividers and painted them, and also stripped off all the gloss black paint revealing all the original tan paint.

Re: MG34 Sling correct?
The hardware on their Lafette straps is terrible also.
I looked at at set they were selling at GAP1, I had them take a set out of its brand new wrapper and the latch was already broken.

It's done. The idea has been lurking for years, and the job took one. The "Evolution of the Lafette 34" is finally in place as my next contribution. I hope you like it! http://www.bergflak.com/lafette/evo34.html Hope to meet some of you at Knob Creek next week! :bnija: Do you know at what table at ...

Re: Knob Creek
I was there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, turnout was maybe a litle lighter but not much. There were times when you could barely walk through the pole barn. Good MG34/42, MP44 items are getting harder and harder to find.
Overall it was a good show, we came home with a lot of cool stuff.

Knob Creek
Anyone find anything interesting at the Creek?
I found a nice 1945 dated MG34 gunners kit, complete with a stamped steel AA sight.
Also bought a MG34 ruptured case tool, some MP44 parts and accessories, and a couple MG34 bolts & barrels for a friend.
