Hey Guys !

WHat if we converted our SA MG-42's to black powder muzzle loaders ? Do ya think the BATFE will allow us to import barrels in that case ?

I have modified the snap hooks, bought at a local Ace Hardware store, to a close approximation of the MG-42 carry sling hooks. I got some nice latigo strap leather, and next is to fabricate the buckles and the triangles that the snap hooks are attached to. Can someone please post dimensions of the l...

I am wondering if it's C&R and how much you are paying for it. It certainly won't be cheap! A very nice finish on the gun, so slick black and shiny. :woot: Are there any papers describing the gun's history?

Those are very nice straps. The snap hooks are quite different. Could someone post the dimensions of the straps and parts?

They look like they were made from MG-34 carry sling hardware. The snap hooks do not resemble Lafette 42 hardware I have seen elsewhere. Even if I do bid on them, some other clown will drive the price up ridiculously anyhow.

I found some carbiner snap hooks that might do well as replica hooks for the lafette 42 straps. What do you guys think? The zinc coating needs to be removed. Any ideas about how to do that? Below is a pic of an MG-42 carry sling hook next to the new hooks proposed to be used for the lafette strap ha...

So, to make the correct style hardware for the lafette straps, I have to make exact copies of the front end carry sling hardware? The lafette hooks are the same size in dimensions and strength of the carry sling hook? If so, I may be able to make exacting replica hardware for the lafette straps, sin...

I have no idea. We WOULD know if we could find some. Original straps (if you can find them) are over $500 now. Way too expensive for me after just purchasing the lafette itself recently.

You need the battery box and the light that clips onto the side of the MGZ-40 only to illuminate the target reticle (crosshairs) when it is too dark outside to see it. You don't need it in daytime. The left-and-right adjustments and up-down adjustments on the sight are made mechanically. Plus there ...

I bought a replica stock complete with Waffenamt from Mike@mgstocks.com a while back for $250 and it is an absolutely PERFECT replica, right down to the size and shape of the grooves on the rear surface. Unfortunately, Mike has disappeared, so if you are going to make MG-42 stocks, Dan, you'll be the...

I have one four-cut MG-42 German receiver. They left the rails in when they cut it, so there are no grinding scars on the sides of the rec to worry about. Are the barrels German ? PM me.
