I have 2 off centre stamped squares both placed on different areas of MG. The first is on part of the chargeing handle ... off centre stamped square with 22 in middle. Rob, I have seen those stamps before. I have several parts in my collection with the same stamps. I would guess these are early maget markings. Thanks for the posts. Those are the first ones that I've seen on two of those parts. The second one is that on the end of the buffer screw? More Later 42rocker Yes rock. Different versions of a WaA markings ???

Hello All
Can any body tell me if this is an early version of the WaA11 mark ( Maget )
The marks in question have a stamped eagle with small 11 under them.
Is this an early WaA mark or just an different way of doing it on small parts ect ?

I'd look carefully for grind or file marks to decide if it was an armorer conversion. More likely it was stamped that way in dies before it was bent, which would leave no grind marks. It look to perfect to of been cut and filed. all edges smooth and perfect. I tend to agree with you now that it was...

Is it OK for your gun? Of course it is. Beside the fact that very few people would know that there were early trays made without the belt tab, the original shooter would have tossed the early tray at the first opportunity in favor of one with the tab. Hello. I have a dated " 1943 " 5891 b which i beleave makes it an early MG so which feed tray would it have? 1. Buffer Screw

Hi. Has anybody ever removed the large long screw that holds the buffer parts together?
Im trying to remove mine.. Bloody tight and cant move it.
Any body had same problem and over come it and removed screrw? :shock:

They do turn up on ebay but you have to be patient as it can take a while. The other option is to try http://www.egun.de most vendors there will ship to the UK but it is all in German so use google translate. Good luck with the hunt and watch out for Yugo M53 stocks being sold as MG42 I hear yea, B...
