Re: Apex has MG42 barrels
Ok, received the barrels and yes they are missing the barrel camming section. Same old question, where can you buy the barrel camming section? and about how much should one spend on it?? My barrels look good and the 8mm bullet goes in them just fine, (not 308). Is it hard to change this barrel cammi...

Re: Michael's Build! yeah yeah, another build thread ;)
Michael Something else comes to mind as we clean these parts, oil the daylights out of them as you clean them up. old ratchet plate, I'm planning to try to rebuild mine like the Pirate build. Dan at Angolaarmory.com has ratchet plate. As does BRP. I've got my rear receivers cleaned up and oiled. Nex...

Re: oxy-acetylene welding
Way to go jimdvan
I'm guessing that everyone thinks that TIG is the way to go and LOTS of practice before you even think about touching the receiver parts.
What thickness of copper backer is normally used?? Where can one normally find copper backer also??
Thanks

Re: Michael's Build! yeah yeah, another build thread ;)
Michael Forgot to add this, try to save the parts of the recuperator that you will be removing from your receiver as I have read many posts about during the rebuild of the recuperator it sprang apart and now I'm missing ??? At any rate I was able to save a few springs and several of the small "yokes...

Michael Good Luck
Just looked at pic P1010011.JPG and it looks about the same length as the best one that I received from ima. As far as rust etc they look like mine do.
Good Luck

Re: I.M.A REAR RECEIVER WITH APEX PARTS KIT
Lots of luck to you! Will be following your posts as I hope to be doing the same in a few weeks, ok next year. Any info that you can share on how you filled the gap between the barrel shroud and the ima receiver would be great.

Re: IMA rear section rebuild opinions???
Thinking about the same thing myself and the idea of buying one and cutting up and using to repair several others is the way I'll go. My thoughts are about what to put in front on the receiver and the barrel shroud?? I ordered the Pirate piece and should get it next week BUT... Will I need to buy a ...
