Re: mg3 in Afganistan
A solid weapons platform for sure, but still not as beautiful as the MG08 or especially the LMG08
It says a lot for the design, the desert is a very hostile environment on equipment.

Re: Question about NJ Law and semi auto
Next time you see Reagan's mug, thank him for at least at the federal level destroying the chance for average Americans to be able to buy full auto guns, FOPA in May of 1986 was his baby, the mythology that the Hughes amendments were 11th hour secrets is rubbish, besides Reagan could have then vetoe...

Re: Wheeled MG08 Sled mount
I have to say, I like the aesthetics of both mounts but I do not like them blended notwithstanding the practical application of the wheels. I never had the privilege to haul a sled mount over no man's land, but it sure is a nice piece of equipment as the Fatherland made it, no wheels.

Re: Break-Free Waterproofing?
I cannot top those above with superior knowledge, I went the dura-coat path, I miss the deep bluing, but as I have said many times, the dura-coat is impervious to nature but the crevices are not. There always are places that need attention if you are caught out in a freak storm by surprise or if ree...

Wow, accolades to Wise Lite Arms.
They could have very easily washed their hands of your gun and so many others, or even reformed under a different incarnation to avoid warranty/liability.
That is earning good will the hard way.

Question with pirate's V2 semi-Bolt
Does anyone here have experience with Pirate’s V2 semi-bolt? I am trying to help a guy get his going, I am not much help (b/c I am experienced with the singe-piece firing pin style). Here is the problem, extremely weak (almost non-existent-weak) primer strikes. The semi-grip hammer has full travel f...

Re: The NEW MG-3!
Neat story, thanks DA.
That is a huge advantage of the '42 over other guns from a shooting/collecting standpoint, with the M53's and MG3's parts still around, parts replacement is not so painful, unlike many of the other German beltfeds.

If just looking for a receiver try:

Naked parts kits (w/o receivers) show up, just be patient, also post a want to buy on various gun forums/sites, something should come up.

Very nice! Good thing you are not in NY, or the Stasi would have shut you down for having more than 7 rounds in that belt.

Re: Are current IMA receivers usable?
Well they were $270 for quite a while, and I almost picked a set up with their Black Friday sale, so they just jacked their price up to $350. For the new guys there was a few years stretch when '34 receivers were as scarce as hen's teeth, with 3-cut sets selling on GB for over $400, of course back t...

Re: Looking for welding repair help
That would be a masterpiece for Conrad Murphy, Seriously that will take some work, not as many guys do these as 5-7 years ago. If nobody PMs you or posts, I would contact Brian at www.BRPguns.com he makes the shells, I would presume he may have a lead on some 07s he sells to, or could give you...
