Left hand threaded muzzles only on Lewis barrels. No Maxim barrel that I have encountered has had left hand threaded muzzle. I second Richards request for pics......

Re: MG34/42 belt in 08/15
The MG34/42 belts can be used with the tab further up the case or facing the opposite direction. The Maxiextracts the round from the link so as long as the link is supported at the back and doesn't foul the feed way it will work. Pith of the 34/42 belts is very close to Maim belt pitch. Browning fab...

Re: mg13 help disassembling trigger group
As oak rodent notes above, it is not difficult, but circuitous, to remove the trigger group. Hammer is removed by rotating its is pivot pin lever, withdrawing the pin and hammer lifts out. There is a cross pin that acts as a stop for the hammer spring plunger, but this does not need to come out unle...

Re: Japanese Type 1 (Type 98/MG-15 clone) reactivated
The tripod on that Jap Aircraft Lewis looks different than the one that I recall, after looking at it again in the pics on the auction site. Seems to me that one time, at his bowling alley/ machine shop the gun was on a Swiss LMG tripod, and then later on that one or so,meshing similar. Have pics of...

Re: Japanese Type 1 (Type 98/MG-15 clone) reactivated
The tripod on Dick Wrays Jap Lewis is one convertered from some other use, not necesarily for an MG, and fitted with a home made pintle. Quite a few of Dick's guns had homemade or altered mounts or mouts adapted from other MGs. Having been to his bowling alley and seen his guns many times, there wer...

Re: Semi MG08
Several people have called me about semi 08 conversions asking about Lonnie's approval letter for his design. I have asked a number of people but they don't know or have never heard that he does. Can you tell us if there is an approval letter for His design?

Re: Traverse clamp handles and extractor Gibson
Pics of the repro extractor gib and the repro T+E jam handle. Jam handle in pic still has color from heat bending, and retaining collar is not in place. Handles offered cold blued, or bead blast textured for painting. They fit and function perfectly. I will fit the gib to your 08 extractor, or to yo...

Traverse clamp handles and extractor Gibson
FYI, I have excellent repro traverse clamp handles that will fit any of the traverse clamps used on Maxim sleds. I also have repro extractor spring gibs that position the fired case for ejection out the ejection tube. If your gun is leaving fired cases in the bottom of the receiver you will need to ...

Re: mg 13 in 308?
Currently own a couple of NFA MG13s and have welded together several post-May samples. The barrels are very simple and could be copied quite easily from any sort of blank and chambered for .308. The barrels have a short threaded breech section that screws into the bolt carrier with a simple tab lock ...

Customer has Jap T1 offered with watercooled kit and extras. Price is unrealistic, meaning way too high, but can be negotiated possibly.

Re: Japanese Type 1 (Type 98/MG-15 clone) reactivated
These shark infested posts are not being of much help here. 8^) There is a possibility that the gun is registered and it would be wise to do a bit of a search to find out if it is. Although it is unlikely that it is and that various hurdles can be cleared, the gun has value from $5-8000. If it turns...

Re: MG08 Barrel Bushing
Really? Correct me, but he asked for a "booster barrel bearing"???? Well, OK, pardon me, but it is not a barrel bearing....... it is a "piston", at least......and it does not fit around the barrel, really, but the muzzle does inset in to the base of the piston a short distance. Now, maybe we are all...

Re: MG08 Barrel Bushing
Do you mean a plain muzzle gland? Or do you mean the first part of the booster body that threads into the front endcap? Muzzle of barrel is supprted by hole in front endcap. There is no separate barrel bearing in the front end of an MG08 as the front endcap is bored for the muzzle diameter of the 08...

Re: Never noticed German MG barrels are dated! Did you?
Turks made their own barrels and are so marked. Many came into the US with the Import of the Turk Mg08s and accessories by IMA. The Turk barrels are of fairly low quality steel but are serviceable for recreational shooting.

Metal spraying, which is expensive but could be used for reclaiming the surface. Building up the surface and then grinding it back flat.

I see that I didn't actually address the heading question below, so just to clarify, my comments were directed at fitting a Vickers feedblock to a 1910 Maxim which is a question that has been raised for a number of years now, and seems to have popped up again from e-mails that I have gotten. Apologi...

Re: Vickers feedblock on an MG08????
Sorry to rain your parade, but this idea has been talked over for years, and there is a lot more to it than that. With the feed port moved forward and reconfigured to correct specs with the steel insert, the front inner wall must be moved forward the required distance to permit passage into the feed...
