Re: "WWII with the camera on the eastern front"
Great films and for German speakers really interesting. What I noticed was a total lack of photographs of the MG34 or MG42 but some of the MP38/40 and even the MP41 and the Rumanian MP. Really interesting films without the Nutzi propaganda. Thanks for posting Harry

Re: Wehrmacht uniform questions
No police uniform, he is wearing a senior NCO rank insignia of the NSKK as already noted. Oh, by the way there was never a directive that only blond Germans 6 foot or taller could be in the SS. That was an internal directive for Hitler's first body guard that was authorized by the party in 1934. For...

Re: MG3 cradel for vehicle use.
I was also going to note that I believe that that mount was for use on the US style tri-pod but I guess it might fit on a vehicle mount. The one I have is ex-Danish Army. The mounts that the Germans use for the MG3 on vehicles is much different. Harry

Re: Whats the story on this MG42?
It could be some of those sold by Sam Cummings to the new German Army in 1956 to 1959. I know some of the receivers were ground but the leaving of the hitler chickens does not make sense if you remove the maker codes or its "Nutzie" past. Harry

Need help on setting value of G41(W) parts
I am clearing our some of my spare parts boxes to make room for my MG34 and MG42 semi-auto builds. I have a new reproduction stock (German Walnut) that I had made in Germany off of my original stock of my three digit G41(W) that I had at the time. I have an original butt plate for the stock. The ori...

Re: Help with rifle I.D.
As noted it is a Hungarian M43 but it is a post war model. They used them well into the 50's. The Germans also used them but with the front of the stock looking more like a K98k. It is normally found in the standard German 8X57 in the war time and post war models. Harry

I would suggest that you check out Gunbroker.com they have the dummy, non fireable MG42's offered quite often. Harry

Re: Norwegian MG34 F2.
The German Army North surrendered in 1945 without firing a shot. All of their combat gear was left in the countries that they had occupied. That is why the Danish and Norwegian Armies had so much German equipment to equip their reserve forces, most of it was new or little used. After the Germans occ...

Not bad for a gun that did not cost $15.00 US dollars to build in 1944/45. Harry

Re: Disassembly of a Wise Lite bolt head
I agree as I always use the feel of my finger tip to get the right length. I forgot to mention that as a young apprentice working in the ware house of the old InterArms of Sam Cummings and crew back in 1959, in Alexandria Va, I got to disassemble and clean, after function checking more MG42's that m...

Re: Disassembly of a Wise Lite bolt head
Thanks after I got the bushing back in place I measured everything to insure that there was enough pin there to pop the primer and that the firing pin was free enough to be withdrawn by the firing pin spring. I have a couple of other questions on the build that I will ask them when I get them on the...

Re: Disassembly of a Wise Lite bolt head
Thanks for the comments, I have no idea why the firing pin bushing is there, as I noted, the bolt came out of a new Wise Lite Rifle (SA MG53) that I purchased the bolt and grip off of. The dealer who sold them never fired the gun as he wanted it for a bigger nightmare -converting it to full auto. He...

Re: Disassembly of a Wise Lite bolt head
I could not stand not knowing what the problem was and not having any reply from Wise Lite I went ahead and took everything apart. The bushing is a pressed fit into a recess into the front of the bolt head. It was pushed forward by the firing pin as there was a burr in the hole in the middle of the ...

Re: New Wise Lite Receivers
That is supposed to be a rear marking on the barrel. But the receiver is $900 welded and the complete one is $1400 plus but are not available yet. There is a cheaper barrel offered for only $600! Harry
